How It Works

Wireless Beehive Scales - Scheme of work

Our wireless beehive scales system consists of three parts.

Hardware part

The two part is the beehive scales themselves. Just like regular scales, you place them under your beehive and leave them there. Our scales are powered by two regular AAA batteries, which last at least a year. They collect weight data every 15 minutes, 24/7, and have a built-in Bluetooth transmitter.

The second part is the digital station. It’s a data transmission device that collects weight and other data from Rashidov devices within its Bluetooth range (up to 1 km in a clear field, about 100 meters in regular conditions) and then transmits it via the cellular network to your personal account.

Software part

The third part of our system is our web application. Basically it is the place where it all comes together, and you can see the actual data we've collected for you. Read more about it here.

Advantages

  • You only pay for one SIM card per apiary, instead of paying for a SIM card for each scale.
  • Scalability is cost-effective as you don't have to buy additional digital stations.
  • Extended battery life – all of our devices work for at least a year on a single set of batteries.
  • Better connectivity – the digital station is separate from the scales, so you can position it higher off the ground to improve connectivity, even in areas with low signal.
  • Web application is free and gives you access to all your data in one place.
